What are the best daily multivitamins that I can give my APBT

My APBT has sensitive skin so i need something that would also help his skin and coat. I have been giving him Excel Multivitamins (I got from Petco) for about 2 months but I dont think its really doing anything for him. 1. vitamins won't do much for a skin condition. What food are you feeding as this could be the problem.
  2. Honestly, I don't think multivitamins will help sensitive skin very much if your dog is getting a good balanced healthy diet to begin with. In fact, supplements may contain ingredients he may be allergic to and make things worse. Talk to your vet. They can assess your dog and suggest supplements that might work best for him, if any.
  3. Try Nupro supplement. Has everything he needs plus you can get the blend that has the additional glucosamine/condroitin, to help with his joints too. Also, for his skin, you can give an additional Vitamin E supplement daily. Many people suggest raw eggs for dogs with skin issues. Unfortunately, however, if you don't live on a farm with fresh chickens, it really isn't worth using grocery store eggs. It is easy for any of those eggs to be the cause of poisoning, especially with salmonella so rampant in the stores now. Better to avoid it than be sorry later. :)
  4. Vitamins are not purposed for skin conditions. Try the puppy isle and PetSmart, they will deffinetely help you out, and bring your puppy in too!
  5. My APBT has sensitive skin as well. I don't give her a multi though. Here is what I do... I feed her a high quality kibble with no allergens, fillers, by-products, etc. (Meat as the first ingredient, no corn, beef, or wheat!) Then, I add these things to her food regularly: Plain, non-fat yogurt, olive oil, peas (my dogs even like peas frozen as a treat!), carrots (cooked), cooked lean meat like turkey or chicken. Since giving her this diet, her coat has been beautiful and she does not have demodectic mange (also known as dermititis.)
