Are vitamins & supplements really good for you?
I heard that vitamins, minerals & dietary supplements don't really work. That they are worthless and you are wasting your money & time with them. Does anyone know for sure or recommend how I can find out the truth? Thanks a bunch!!

- Yes they are! Also with eating healthy things. You will notice a difference. Every time I'd feel like snacking....I would grab a carrot after work or durring work and it became addictive.
- They are very good but ONLY if you use a brand that is well absorbed by the body. You need to use a daily multivitamin and an antioxidant supplement at the very least to help keep your immune system healthy. If you are not already taking these supplements then you need to do so but pick a brand that is well absorbed by the body. To find a good brand do some web research or check out www.melaleuca.com for one brand.
- ya they are...it helps you keep your brain cells strong!
- There are certain functions of vitamins and minerals within the body.. many being vital to health.. is why your doctor prescribes them when one is pregnant..One of them being specific for reducing the possibility of deformity of the unborn. Vitamins are co-enzymes and are important to increase the ability of the enzymes to do their job.. I would question your contact, for making such an unfounded and uninformed pronouncement... without having any basic knowledge of what they present. As the old saying goes."Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see".. Do a search on line and see the specific functions of each of the vitamins and minerals required by the body. Whether you get them from the foods you eat or supplementally. The only problem with supplements is found in the coating which may not dissolve in the digestive tract.
