Can my childs liquid vitamins go bad?

I accidentally left the cap off the vitamins over night. They don't expire until next year. They are children liquid vitamins prescribed by the doctor. They are stored at room temperature, do you think they should be okay to keep giving my child? Or should I wait to get a new bottle before I give them?

  1. yes
  2. As long as they are stored at room temperature, I would think that they should be okay unless you think something might have gotten into the bottle (like if you've been dusting, cleaning sprays, etc).........
  3. yes-- but most vitamins have an expiration date...sometimes excessive heat can cause them to go bad too.. i have left the lid off my kids too and it was fine i noticed first thing in the morning..as long as it isn't the kind that need refrigeration you should be good
  4. They are probably ok seeing as a lot of mothers have those 'duh' moments (trust me I am the queen of Duh moments with my kids anymore lol) but just in case call your baby's doctor and ask and if they have reason to believe they may not be good they will prescribe you some more. You can also buy them over the counter too I do believe Gerber makes liquid infant vitamins(if you have the money seeing as they are kinda pricey) But yeah if it was just overnight and caught early in the morning I dont see why they would be bad...now if it was repeatedly left open for long periods of time then I would throw them out. Just be sure to call the DR and check just to make sure.
