Is it okay to give my 3 year old childrens multivitamins?
We picked up "Arthur Multivitamins" at the grocery store and when we got home we noticed it said for 4 years and up. Our child is 3 and 1/4 years old. Does that matter or is this based mostly for choking hazards? Will this do any harm if he has one a day? He has been taking vitamin C chewables for like 6 months now.

- You need to ask your doctor about it. Kids vary so much in height and weight year to year, so if your 3 year old is on the smaller side, the multivitamin may contain too much of some things for his body (particularly iron).
- Normally it's a good idea, unless your child has a really healthy diet. But ask your doctor to be sure.
- its best to ask a pediatrician. my son has been taking minadex multivitamin everyday since he turned one, it was recommended by the pediatrician
- Yes. My son has taken a multivitamin since he was born. They were first given to us by our doctor. If you want your child to take a multivitamin, check out all the options in the stores. They're some that are made for younger children, even infants.
- You may want to check with your doctor just to be sure. We started giving our daughter Flintstones chewable vitamins when she was 3 years old and never had any problems.
- If it says 4 and up, then you need to wait until he's 4. Otherwise you may overdose him on certain vitamins, which can make him feel sick or cause health problems. Usually the age is on there because they weigh the ingredients and the vitamins in the pill will be too much for someone under a certain weight. I found this link online though and it says 2-12 years old...
